Hosting and technical logs
The website is hosted by Cyberfolks. Like most hosting providers, its servers may process technical data such as an IP address, browser information and request time to deliver the website, maintain security and diagnose errors. These logs are retained only for as long as necessary for those purposes.
Anti-spam protection (hashed IP addresses)
The Kalambeer game and its leaderboard use a simple rate-limiting mechanism to prevent spam and automated abuse when scores are submitted. For this purpose only, your IP address is turned into an irreversible hash (HMAC-SHA256 with a secret key and the current date, so it changes daily). The IP address itself is never stored and the hash cannot be reversed.
The hash only counts submissions within a short, roughly one-hour window and is not linked to leaderboard entries — saved scores contain only your chosen nickname and the result. Expired hashes are cleared automatically on the next submission, so they may persist a little longer during quiet periods. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and free of abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, Recital 49).
